CCR Questons

CCR Questions  In this video I am interviewed for the second time about various subject matters. This is the second interview I have done regarding my filming.

Final Task: OVERTIME: Last Chance

Final Task:  The video above is a culmination of lot of planning and a lot of preparation. I know that I will look back to my first ever production with nostalgia when I am a bit older and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to plan and produce my own piece of film media. I would like to thank my teachers for guiding me through the process as well as Elliot B. and Henry B. for aiding me in the production of the film. I would also like to thank Homage Beats and CTFE for allowing me to use their music in my film (Written Permission & Creative Commons License). I hope to continue producing short films and expanding upon my skills!

Production Blog: The Journey

Image
Production Blog: The Journey  This is the last entry that will be put into my production blog before my final task is uploaded. I am very excited to be able to see such a major project come into fruition after months of planning. This is the first time I have completed a project of this type that has required so much careful planning and preparation of so many different things. This project has taught me both cinematography skills as well as life skills including patience, determination, and perseverance. I am very excited to be able to present my finished product for the first time. I already can see that the project has many flaws, some which I simply can't resolve, but I think the fact that I am still noticing these flaws is a testament the education that I have received within AS Media. I am still criticizing my work and seeing places where I can improve; even now I am tweaking footage and adjusting clips to a degree that most likely won't even make much of a difference in ...

Production Blog: Accepting Advice

Image
Production Blog: Accepting Advice Due to the fact that I am working this project alone, from an academic standpoint, I received little direct feedback during production of the film. Working as both director and producer, my visions and ideas were not really questioned during filming. While editing, I am working completely alone because of my parents' lack of familiarity with video editing as a whole. I consider this a disadvantage because of the simple fact that there are wonderful ideas and beneficial input that others can provide that I could not come up with on my own accord. Therefore I set aside the past couple of days to gather some input strictly from participants within the film's production. I am now in the later stages of post-production and believe this is the key time to gather extraneous input before I finalize my film. I can gather even more input, some from individuals not part of production, when the film is seen through for the first time. First off I gathered...

Production Blog: Animating Titles

Image
Production Blog: Animating Titles  In this editing session, I did the animation for my titles. I began the process in Sony Vegas Pro, but switched over to Premiere Pro. As I mentioned in a previous entry, I began formal training for Adobe Premiere Pro through my high school's Communications Technology class. I have recently completed the text animation portion of this training, luckily. I believe it is best for me to work within Premiere Pro in regards to title animation because of my lack of formal training in Sony Vegas. While I am familiar with Sony Vegas and have animated text with it many times, there is a bit of fuzziness in my knowledge, so to speak. I may be able to produce a good result, but I lack the actual knowledge of the tools that I am using to complete said task. From a professional perspective this is undesirable for a multitude of reasons: I am forced to complete tasks in limited ways, I am limited to the creative avenues I can explore because of my lack of expert...

Production Blog: Editing Research and Video Editing Progression

Image
Production Blog: Editing Research and Video Editing Progression: In this video editing session I focused on my titles alongside other more minuscule details. I also took some time to analyze other pieces of cinematography in order to gain a better sense of what "works". I mostly studied montage-esque and how intensity scenes. My main focus is to perfect the scenes where there is a lot of movement and action because I am not used to editing scenes of this type. Some of the material I used was from Space Jam (1997). I specifically watched the ending scene in which the MonStars were defeated. While the pace of this scene was not as fast, I could still observe the large amounts of editing that were used. Space Jam is a film with an abundance of CGI which entails a lot of editing to make things look as realistic as possible. The film utilized a lot of medium shots in its action scenes, as oppose to the full body shots you'd expect. I may adjust my footage in post to eliminate...
